What double glazing problems do we fix?

Double glazing problems fall into three groups, and we handle all of them: hardware failures (handles, locks, hinges), sealed unit failures (misting between the panes), and seal/draught issues (cold air, leaks, condensation on the room side).

Hardware repairs

Handles that spin, locks that will not engage, seized hinges, friction stays that no longer hold the window open. We replace the individual part, and we carry parts for all the major systems fitted in Bristol over the last 20-plus years.

Sealed unit failures

Mist or haze between the panes means the sealed unit has gone. We measure, order a like-for-like replacement and fit it into your existing frame. The frame stays, only the glass changes — by far the most cost-effective fix.

Draughts and seal issues

Over 15–20 years the rubber gaskets perish and shrink, letting in draughts and rain. We strip and replace the seals to bring the window back to its original performance.

Repair or replace?

In most cases a repair is all you need. Double glazing is built to last 20–30 years, and even then the frames are usually still sound — it is the moving parts and sealed units that fail first.
