Why window seals fail

UPVC windows rely on rubber gaskets and wedge seals to keep air and water out. Over 15–20 years these harden, shrink and crack, so cold air, rain and noise start getting through.

Worn seals also let condensation form around the frame, which over time can lead to damp and mould on the reveals.

What we do

We strip out the old, perished gaskets and press in new seal material matched to your window profile. Where the issue is the wedge gasket holding the glass, we renew that too.

It is a quick, low-cost job that makes an immediate difference to comfort, draughts and energy bills.

Seals vs sealed units

Worth being clear: replacing window seals (the rubber gaskets) is different from replacing a sealed unit (the glass). If your problem is misting between the panes, that is a sealed unit and we cover it on our misted double glazing page.
