What is a glass unit?
A glass unit (also called a sealed unit, double-glazed unit or IGU) is the glass panel inside your frame: two or three panes with a sealed gap between them. That sealed gap is what keeps the heat in.
When the edge seal fails, moisture gets in and you see misting or a milky haze you cannot wipe away. When the glass cracks, the unit needs replacing. Either way, the fix is the same — out with the old unit, in with the new.

Types of glass unit repair
Failed or blown sealed units
The most common job. The perimeter seal has failed and moisture is inside, but the glass is not broken. We fit a new unit matched like-for-like to your existing glass and reuse your frame, beading and gaskets. Made-to-measure units take roughly 5–7 working days.
Cracked or smashed glass
Accidental impact, a stone from the mower, or attempted entry — a broken pane needs replacing quickly for security and weather. We can board up the same day if needed, measure, and return to fit. Ground-floor and accessible glass is fitted as toughened safety glass.
Upgrades
If you have old air-filled units, we can upgrade to argon-filled, low-E glass for better warmth and lower bills. We also fit obscure glass for bathrooms, acoustic glass and Georgian-bar units.
